Installation Processes
Installation of Fibre Floor Coverings Sisal, Seagrass, Coir, Jute and Paper are wholly natural products which respond to the environment they are sited in. They will expand & contract when the moisture in the air increases or decreases. To ensure that they perform well they should be installed in one of the methods described below. This will make sure that there is no buckling or wrinkling of the flooring when it expands and no shrinkage when it contracts maintaining stability and resulting in prolonged life and good looks of your floor covering. Direct Stick System - here the floor covering is stuck directly to the floor. Double Stick System - where a special underlay is lightly adhered to the floor and the natural floor covering is stuck directly to the underlay. The underlay provides added softness underfoot, sound insulation and greater stability. Installatiion of Wool Floor Coverings These can be fitted in the same way as conventional carpets with carpet grippers, or using the double stick system mentioned above. Expect to pay more for double stick installation than conventional installation. Prices vary depending on the complexity of the fitting. Our fully fitted prices would include for the supply of underlay, adhesives, grippers and doorbars.
